I am Valeria, I am 45 years old and I am originally from Cameri, a beautiful country town along the Ticino valley, surrounded by rice fields and farms. After the High School for Interpreters and Translators in Turin and some work experience in France and England ……. I began to wonder what kind of work I could really like. I still remember when my father told me “but Vale, you with your character and your training must be a tour guide!”. It was 2003 and I didn’t think twice: I took my bags and luggage, moved to Baveno, on Lake Maggiore and became a licensed Tourist Guide of the Lake District.
Subsequently, the great love for this unique territory and the desire to be able to tell it in a more complete way pushed me to pass the exam to also practice the profession of Environmental Hiking Guide.
I like to drive young and old: children are always a source of ideas and stimuli as well as guests of different nationalities, which allows me to deal with cultures different from mine.
I love to tell the territory through curiosities and anecdotes about traditions, culture and nature but also through typical products and important characters.
Since 2016 I have lived with my husband and my 2 children in Omegna, on Lake Orta: a splendid place, on a human scale, where we can live in contact with nature and devote ourselves to sport: I like to “corricchiare” in the beautiful paths around the lake and my dog Sandy never leaves me!
And what about my work …. my dad was right!
I feel it is mine and after 19 years I am still here, telling stories of nobles and fishermen, gardeners and smugglers, flowers and pots, saints and sinners with even more passion and enthusiasm than the first day!
